The current enterprise bargaining agreement between the Victorian Government and AMA Victoria expires on 30 June 2008.
As part of the upcoming 2008 Remuneration Review for doctors in public hospitals, AMA Victoria has served a list of issues on both the Department of Human Services and hospital representatives. Presenting this log of claims is consistent with the provisions of Industrial Relations Policy Manual for the Victorian Public Sector 2006 distributed by Industrial Relations Victoria
The list contains matters which AMA Victoria considers as important first steps in attracting and retaining medical staff in Victorian Public hospitals. Many of the issues are consistent with a significant number of recommendations of the report into the Ministerial Review of Victorian Public Health Medical Staff released by the Minister in March 2008.
AMA Victoria is now expecting to move into the negotiation phase which, consistent with government policy, will be conducted in a co-operative and problem solving manner.
